Opera Mini Powers Web'n'walk For Cosmote Romania

March 9, 2010 - Oslo, Norway - Opera Software today announced that, as of December 2009, Cosmote Romania is delivering a branded version of Opera Mini for mobile Web browsing and services to its customers in Romania.

Cosmote Romania will roll out Opera Mini, packaged as web'n'walk, over the air to its customers from http://mini.opera.com/wnw_ro/. The branded version will feature a customized UI (user interface), Romanian localization, and bookmarks of popular regional Web sites, such as Ziarul Financiar, Gandul, Gazeta Sporturilor, Hotnews, Libertatea, Mediafax, and ProSport, as well as the Cosmote portal, m.webnwalk.ro. The web'n'walk-branded Opera Mini version will initially support 50 devices.

"With Opera Mini, we can now offer our subscribers a localized web'n'walk experience that provides all their favorite Web content, as well as easy access to our own Web-based services. Users' preference is increasing for news, weather and useful information sites, which we have included among our widgets in the first stage of the service development. We will continuously expand web'n'walk, adding more relevant content for all users," said Gabriel Ionita, Senior Product & Services Development Manager COSMOTE Romania.

"We are thrilled that Cosmote has chosen web'n'walk, powered by Opera Mini, to provide compelling Web services on a wide range of mobile phones," says Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.

Cosmote Romania is member of the COSMOTE Group. Cosmote Romania is the 10th operating company to select the Opera Mini-powered Web'n'Walk service since inception.
